Hello and welcome to SLUCAS.ME. This is not my first time creating a web page. I ran 2 Guys Gaming for almost a decade. Originally, my friend and I envisioned it as a place where we could share our opinions about gaming and pop culture to build a community of like minded individuals. That never happened, the friend and I lost touch, and I decided it was time for a rebrand. This page is that rebrand. This is now designed to be a more personal page. This isn’t even my first time at creating a personal page. Back in the dark ages of the internet, I ran the 2nd most visited Pittsburgh Steelers fan site on the internet. I also ran a personal blog that allowed me to meet some cool other people. Whether this one evolves into more than simply an online diary remains to be seen. But, I’m dedicated to bringing content that I enjoy and hope that others find me and enjoy it, too.
Who Am I?
My name is Shawn Lucas. I’m a 50 year old husband, teacher, and father of three. I’ve been playing video games since the Atari 2600 days. I also like reading comic books, playing chess and tabletop RPGs (mostly D&D), building lego, crochet, some minor programming, and watching television and movies when I have time to do that. This page exists for me to share my love of all of those things with the internet.
What are you favorite….?
Comics: I discovered comics in my teen years as Image grew into one of the biggest publishers at the time. I still collect and read Spawn to this day. Other than that, I have traditionally been a Marvel Zombie. However, recently, DC Comics actually offers better stories these days, especially with their “Absolute” line. With all that being said, my favorite books traditionally are Spider-Man and Batman.
TV Show: Right now, it is probably Invincible. My son introduced me to the show last year and we’ve been watching it together.
Movie: Of all time? Shaun of the Dead. Recently? Project Hail Mary was very good.
Video Game: Of all time? Portal 2.
Video Game I’m Playing: Minecraft. I love the creativity and wonder that the game constantly brings.
Why Should You Care?
I’m just a nice guy who wants to find others who simply enjoy things and let others enjoy things. I’m sick and tired of the constant griping, bitching, and complaining of nerd culture. Why can’t we just have nice things and enjoy them? If that sounds like you, “Welcome. I hope you enjoy your stay.”
